Upper Ridge Chipper Program
This program is being funded by grants and contributions from citizens and local businesses. The chipping contractor is being well paid for this service and any contributions made to the Butte County Fire Safe Council for this service will be used to expand and continue this program. (Contributions can be made by check payable to: Butte County Fire safe Council, 767 Birch Street, Paradise, CA 95969.) This program is sponsored in cooperation with The POA, Butte County Fire Safe Council, Butte County Air Quality Management District, Bureau of Land Management and Title III funds from HR 2389.
As a homeowner creating Defensible Space around your buildings, please call the Chipper Hotline at 877-0984 to register for chipper service. No direct calls for scheduling will be accepted at any other location or by any individual.

Number of piles and approximate size(s)
2. A program volunteer will confirm the volume of vegetation to be chipped, as well as the condition and location of the piles.
3. Pile inspections in the Upper Ridge Area will be done each Tuesday and the Chipper Coordinator will schedule the day for chipping work to be done.
4. Properties not having organized vegetation piles will fail the pile inspection, be removed from the chipping schedule, and the owner contacted by an Upper Ridge volunteer so the address can be returned to the chipping schedule when the vegetation piles are corrected.
5. Where possible, a follow-up call or visit to the homeowner will be conducted by an Upper Ridge volunteer to determine the success of this procedure, the quality of work done, and gain a success story where possible.
