Weather alert issued for Paradise, ridge

PARADISE — Paradise officials this morning issued an active weather forecast alert for the next seven days, warning about intensified rain, wind and the possibility of flooding.
The National Weather Service has issued advisories for flood, wind and a high-wind watch for the ridge, suggesting that driving conditions could be difficult.
Officials warned of the possibility of downed power lines and trees, along with flooded roads because of the storms.
Residents should stock up on food supplies, propane, batteries and candles.
Bags and sand will be available at 5657 Sierra Park Drive at Pearson Road, as well as Town Hall, 5555 Skyway, if flooding occurs.
Residents are advised to stay home if snow begins, or if the rain and wind intensifies.
